So You’ve Got a…Riesling

Riesling wines, because of their delicate balance of sweetness and acidity, surprisingly provide a delicious pairing for many types of food–including cheese!  Though they can range from light to full-bodied, Riesling is floral, fruity, and low in alcohol.

The best cheeses to pair with a Riesling are washed-rind cow’s milk cheeses, such as Comte and Raclette.  Fresh Chevre also pairs well with Riesling wines that are on the more acidic side.  Blue cheeses are a sensitive pair, as what may taste delicious to you may not taste so yummy to someone else.

If you ever have questions as to a pairing, your local Bottle King Wine Manager and Vineyard Market Cheese Lead will be more than happy to assist you!
